The Stubeck Sonnalm region is located on a sunny plateau in the Upper Carinthian Alps at 1,750 metres above the art and culture town of Gmünd.
To the west, the area of the municipality of Gmünd borders on the foothills of the Hohe Tauern with the Hohe Tauern National Park,
to the east the Nockberge mountains with the biosphere park Salzburg Lungau and Carinthian Nockberge can be found.

You can set off on your winter adventure directly from the Fender Chalets: whether on touring skis or snowshoes – there are plenty of opportunities for extensive tours all around. Winter hikers can also enjoy the marvellous snow-covered panorama during varied tours.
Our altitude guarantees snowy conditions. Conquer the Stubeck at 2,370 metres. If you want to go even higher, you can venture up the Reitereck at 2,790 metres. The Malta Valley also offers many wonderful tour destinations.

In the warm season, the Stubeck-Sonnalm offers a variety of hiking and mountain biking routes.
Your advantage: you can start your sporting adventure directly from your chalet. Well signposted hiking and mountain bike trails guide you through the dreamlike nature – far away from busy paths.
Experience the Carinthian mountains’ most beautiful side and enjoy unforgettable and breathtaking views, such as from our local mountain, the Stubeck at 2,370 metres.
Here you can enjoy a marvellous panoramic view of the Malta Valley, the Nockberge mountains and, to the south, the Karawanken.
